What is involved at GCSE?

At GCSE, we start by developing your writing and comprehension skills. You will learn Latin through reading and translating short passages and exercises using our innovative digital textbook, Suburani, which follows the lives of a diverse group of characters in Rome during Emperor Nero's reign. In Year 10, you will begin studying two set texts by ancient authors, analysing and evaluating them to build your essay writing and critical thinking skills — especially valuable if you’re also taking Humanities or Arts subjects.

How is the course structured, and which exam board do we use?

The OCR GCSE course is divided into two equally weighted components:

How will Latin prepare me for my future?
